Summer Breeze Concerts Return for 17th Year!

Join Us For This Year's Summer Breeze Concerts In the Square:
The 17th annual Summer Breeze Concert Series kicks off with a special concert on June 21. The popular series features free outdoor evening concerts each Wednesday throughout July and August, with two extra concerts on Saturday, June 21, and Friday, July 11. Bring your dancing shoes (and a lawn chair) and enjoy the great lineup of performances each Wednesday night right in the middle of tree-lined Duke of Gloucester Street. The July fun gets started with the July 2 Independence Day Concert, followed by four terrific bands each successive Wednesday.
- Saturday, June 21, 7 - 8:15 p.m., Virginia National Guard and Peninsula Concert Bands, a 90-member combined band offering a traditional summer evening concert with a mixture of pop, light classics, and marches.
- Monday, July 2, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.: USAF Heritage of America Concert Band Annual Independence Day Concert
- Wednesday, July 9, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., Right On, "The Ultimate Party Band"
- Friday, July 11, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., Royal Hospital School Band, UK, The 40-member student concert band from the U.K. will make Williamsburg its final stop on a cultural tour to the United States.
- Wednesday, July 16: Summer Breeze Concert, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., Power Play, with a 6 p.m. pre-show performance by local student theater troupe Stagelights.
- Wednesday, July 23, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., Kings of Swing, a versatile 12-piece party band from Richmond, with musical styles from swing to beach music and Motown. Don't miss the swing dance demonstrations during intermission!
- Wednesday, July 30, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., Skylark Featuring Anna Gunn, a 4-piece band with “swinging, sophisticated music” and the jazzy vocals of Anna Gunn. Don't miss the swing dance demonstrations during intermission!
All concerts are free, and children's activities begin at 6:30 p.m.

Autumn Festival and Sidewalk Sale Sunday, September 28
From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, Merchants Square hosts its third annual Autumn Festival to celebrate the season. Centered on an apple theme, the event again features an apple pie baking contest, an apple pie eating contest, children’s activities, music, vendors of autumn foods and crafts, and much more.Schedule of Events:
10:30 a.m. Pie Baking Contest pies dropped off for judging. 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Pie judging (private) 12:00 p.m. Autumn Festival opens. Think your apple pie is better than Mom's? Area apple pie bakers are encouraged to enter a fun-filled contest and earn a chance to win cash for their favorite nonprofit organization. The contest will be judged professionally by Merchants Square's own chefs, with the top three pie-bakers receiving a check written out to their favorite nonprofit. Enter by Friday, September 26!Crowd-Pleasing Pie Eating Contest
Pick your favorite charity and loosen your belt for the Apple Pie Eating Contest. This contest is a great way for school groups to spend a day together and earn money for their cause. The first three contestants to finish an entire Berret's Restaurant Apple Pie will receive a check written out to his or her favorite charity, non-profit, or school organization. Farmers' Market Open May Through October

The Williamsburg Farmers' Market is now open for its sixth season! From 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday in May through October, enjoy the great variety of local, seasonal, fruits and vegetables, along with delicious baked treats, seafood, and beautiful plants and flowers from over 30 vendors.
