Merchants Square Summer Sunday Night Movies Are Back!

We’re rolling out the red carpet once again for one of Williamsburg’s favorite summer traditions—the Merchants Square Summer Sunday Night Movies!

Starting Saturday, June 29, join us at sunset each weekend for an unforgettable season of free outdoor movie screenings in the parking lot behind Baskin-Robbins, The Peanut Shop, and Blue Talon. It’s the perfect way to unwind with family, friends, and a little movie magic under the stars.

2025 Movie Lineup
Each film is carefully selected to bring something special for every age group—from heartwarming animated adventures to crowd-pleasing classics. Here’s what’s playing this summer:

• June 29 – Minecraft (PG – Family-Friendly/Adventure)
  Dive into the pixelated universe of Minecraft in this creative, block-building adventure perfect for fans of all ages.

• July 6 – Captain America: Brave New World (PG-13 – Action/Superhero)
  Sam Wilson takes up the shield in this thrilling new chapter of the Marvel saga—packed with action, heart, and heroism.

• July 13 – Inside Out 2 (PG – Family-Friendly)
  Return to Riley’s mind as she navigates the highs and lows of her teenage years—with some new emotions along for the ride.

• July 20 –Footloose (PG – Classic/Music)
  Kick off your Sunday shoes and dance the night away with this beloved 80s musical that still gets everyone moving.

• July 27 – Moana 2 (PG – Family-Friendly/Musical)

• August 3 – Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (PG-13 – Comedy/Fantasy)

• August 10 – Snow White (PG – Family-Friendly/Fantasy)
  A timeless tale returns to the screen—this new take on Snow White brings a fresh sparkle to the story you know and love.

• August 17 – Wicked (Sing-Along) (PG – Musical/Fantasy)
  Defy gravity with this enchanting sing-along version of Wicked, perfect for fans of Oz and Broadway alike!

• August 24 – Hook (PG – Family-Friendly/Adventure)
  Fly to Neverland with Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, and Captain Hook in this Spielberg classic starring Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman.

Event Details

• When: Every Sunday at sunset, June 29–August 31 (Start times vary slightly each week depending on daylight—movies begin once it’s dark enough to project.)

• Where: Merchants Square Parking Lot – Behind Baskin-Robbins, The Peanut Shop, and Blue Talon
  (Note: Parking lot closes at 6 PM for event setup.)

• What to Bring: Lawn chairs and blankets. Make sure to grab a bite from one of the many nearby restaurants before showtime!
